Cheung sha wan Artellex | Memories Per S.F. - Visual Archive of Hong Kong Homes
Description
"When skyscrapers rise from blueprints, We nest our dreams of stability within these squares."
As the concept of housing evolves from a basic necessity to a luxury dream, decades of real estate sales brochures serve as intimate witnesses to Hong Kong's social evolution.
Local digital printing studio artellex proudly presents Memories Per S.F. (留下記憶), featuring the 40-year collection of renowned local sales brochure collector Mr. Alan Wong. Through an artistic lens, we explore Hong Kong’s urban journey. From the 1960s to the 2000s, each brochure acts as a time capsule; these ambered pages are more than mere sales tools—they embody generations' hopes for belonging and resonate with the enduring belief among Hongkongers that "a roof overhead makes a home," even within confined spaces.
In addition to the exquisite sales brochures, other displays and interactive installations capture the aspirations and expectations of Hong Kong residents regarding their living spaces. Each collectible represents a microcosm of its era, allowing us to reflect on the shifts in housing prices, unit sizes, amenities, locations, and designs—factors that not only shape living conditions but also quietly define the lifestyles and values of Hong Kong residents.
Journey Through the Event:
Golden Age of Hand-Drawn Art: Magnified prints of architectural illustrations from the 60s to 80s reveal the dialogue between humanity and design.
